hi, i own a '82 cherryburts flame top p250. ive noticed on this site somewhere someone has the same guitar put with a les paul type pick guard? mine doesnt have this nor does it look like its ever had one. also all the pots cover/knobs are gold metal telecater type?

does anyone have any more info on these guitars as i think they are the best guitars in the world . after buying this guitar i sold all but one of my other guitars (a 1970 fender musicmaster).

You probably saw mine. A previous owner installed the pickguard, and now that there are holes I simply left it on there. Probably the same owner scratched NIN in the control cavity cover on the back. All else on it is stock.

hi, thanks for that! yeah mine is exactly like your but w/out pick guard. well i say exactly mine a bit beat up but it still plays like a dream. im glad the previous owner changed the pot cover though! also
why does the catalouge have the "w" logo on the headstock when ours are just "westone" ? the guy in my local rip off guitar shop said they actually made some of them in the uk?

As with any guitar manufacturer (Gibson and Fender are good examples) the logo changed over time. Mine is an '82 and I am pretty sure the catalog is from '83.

The Westone name was revived not long ago in the UK (within the last 5 or so years I think) and a few models were made there, but they were an entirely different creature and only bore a slight resemblence. They did however receive rather favorable reviews there.

The 1987 Session II has the same logo as seen on the catalog scans... and it says "Matsumoku" in the soundhole.

my serial number is a little faint but it dates it as an 82 aswell so that kinda answered it too. thanks for al your help. on a side note the wallpaper on this site has the p250 and some fantastic looking blue d/cut guitar what is it?

There is a British Westone Corsair up on eBay right now.

The blue guitar in the background is a shot of my old Skylark 2588 which now belongs to jbyear1. No, I don't think he will part with it.

That Skylark that I got from AP2 is one of my favorite guitars.
He was kind enough to let it go to me some months back.
It is a neck-thru with a brass nut and built in booster rocket.

It is definitely a Rock n Roll monster with a nice cling clang sound.
It can also get a rich jazzy tone with the flick of a switch. Amazing.

Thanks for calling attention to the Westone Prestige which I hadn't
paid much attention to before. Upon closer inspection it is a beaut.
And you say its a good player too? I wish you hadn't said that.

I'm trying so hard with all my might to resist getting any more guitars.
But there are so many I want to try. I am weak and temptation is calling.

I think its time to do what everyone else is doing. Sell a few get another

i know what you mean about wanting more guitars. last year i owned 16 guitars then moved in with my girlfriend and thought id cut back . well within a month it was down to the 2. its since creeping back up to around 6 at the moment. I came up with a cunning plan to get around this though....... i taught her guitar!!! now she owns 2!!!

ive played the new westones and all i'll say is stay away. the wood feels light and cheap. the controls are exceptable but the eletrics/pickups would squeal playing i dont know something like scarbourgh faire?
