This is not a trick.......

What did the 81/82 Omegas use for tuning machines that only had a mounting screw at 6 oclock, and were gold?

My X210 headstock rear: https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=9A074E41 ... B86%211699

I just don't believe that these Pings are original to this guitar.....the fit is correct, but PINGS?

You think that the hardware was originally chrome and changed to gold to spruce it up for the whatever? And that's why the PINGS? PING PING PING PONG

Is it an optical illusion I am seeing or are the key arms not level to each other, JD? :-?

Sure look like a proper fit otherwise, though...

I have never seen a gold trc on an SLM. But it is a nice looking guitar. The tuners look a bit big.

I'd be shocked if the Pings were original. Having said that, I've never seen an Omega that didn't have 6 and 12 o'clock screw holes. The only stock tuners I've ever seen on any Electra were either peace signs, no markings or Grovers. With that screw hole I'd go with gold grovers as stock. That guitar is such a one of a kind that it might be impossible to tell though.

My 2 cents - Pings are OK but if Electra had access to Grovers I think they would have used them on a "fancy" guitar.
