Hey guys/gals in my relentless pursuit of Electra guitars I uncovered a 2271 in the basement of a small local music store, they actually had forgotten it was there. The bass is in pretty good shape, there are a couple of dings on the body but overall it's in really good shape, still has the foil sticker (although the written model number has rubbed off), and the hardware and case are original as far as I can tell.
I know very little about the basses that Electra had to offer so I have no idea if this is a good find or not. Are they rare or easy to come by? I wouldn't mind adding it to my collection if I can get it at the right price or pass it on to one of the bass players on the forum here.

I'm still kinda a newbie here, still have my X350 I bought in 1984, but not new to Electras, I absolutely love these guitars!!
Thanks guys!!

They are not that rare. You see quite a few of them on ebay and CL. In fact there is one on CL now. A great price would be under $100.00 A good price would be under $150.. Over $200.00 would be too much unless it was in super fantastic shape. Electra basses seem to be behind the 6 strings in value. I hope you get a great deal. They are out there.

Thanks for the response YYZ (nice Rush ref :) ). I didn't know so thanks for that input. I did a little more research on it and it is a pre-76 model, saw the exact same one in the catalog on the models page and it just, IDK if that makes a difference or not.... Thanks again!!
