Hi, please excuse the fact that this is my first post here. Google sent me in this direction and I hope this will be the best place to find out a little about a bass I have. It's a Westone Quantum headless bass which I guess is of 80`s vintage. It's in the original case (which looks a bit like a rifle case!), it's black and has red dot fret markers. I am in the unfortunate position of needing to move this on but have no idea of value or where best to try and sell it. Again, apologies for this, I hope you guys can assist or even help me to find it a good home - I guess the styling might not suit every taste! I realise it won't be worth a fortune, but am rather attached to it (a late friend found it for me) so would like to find an appreciative owner for it.

There are a couple of guys here with Quantum basses, but as Corsair said above those are the Westone experts. There is some cross pollenization between these forums.

I own a Quantum headless Bazss and love it. It is a very versatile and very light bass to play but has great tone. I have seen the Black models the most but every now and again you may see another color pop up. So far as price ranges go as is with any instrument it depends on condition, originality, etc and also how bad someone may want it. It's difficult at best to judge value without photos or actually playing the Bass. I would suggest a completed listing search on ebay to see what the current sales rates have been. As a rough guess I would put it in a range from $125-$300 but again hard to say without photos etc. I would suggest you sit down and play it again for a bit and give it a chance before you decide to pass it along. The members over at the Westone Forums or here would enjoy it I am certain but it is an acquired taste and takes some time to get used to the headless Bass configuration. Thanks guys - I'll try and post some pics and also try the Westone forum (which would make more sense! lol).
It is really playable with a good tone. I tend to take it along to gigs as a back up as it takes up so little room in the car.

I have seen them in the past 2 years or so go for as little as $160 and as much as near $600. As with anything being auctioned or sold online demand will be the critical factor in establishing the final price. Condition is the first consideration of course, closely followed by how near to stock it is.
