Hello all, recently my uncle passed away and as we were clearing out his house we found a beautiful Electra Phoenix 4-string bass in the attic. We were told by his long time neighbor that it was probably from the 1980's. I don't know much about these basses, and after some google searches I couldn't come up with much.

There is a serial #3112677 on the back of the neck, and the bass itself is very heavy compared to ones that I own.

I tried contacting Electra, but they pointed me here. If anyone has info about the bass would be great!

Thanks :)

Hi, I'm with the new Electra. You weren't kidding. That is a beautiful bass.

Thorny, Mortarman, any help identifying this one?

Thanks,
Gene

That bass is an X635SS (Silverstone color). From your picture it almost looks like a graphite color used on the XV3GR Dynasty but the Silverstone is also known as metallic bronze and can photograph differently in various lighting when it comes to color. I do not think that the X635 was offered in the graphite color. Take a look at the index of models page or check the old Electra page link at the top left of the index of models page.

Your bass was made in November of 1983 from the serial number.

Sorry about your Uncle, but you are welcome here in our little Electra world.

+1 Ron.

x635 (natural and Dark stained body wings)
x635PW
x635SS

were the only variants for the x635

8) Very nice and very cool; Bass. I agree that it looks to be the one mentioned above and in the harder to find Silverstone finish. Great players. thanks for the photos and Welcome to the Forums.

Sorry for your loss.

Perhaps the nicest of that model I have seen - looks almost perfect. Nice bass
