I saw this in the newspaper this morning, and thought - man that guitar looks familiar! I looked online and found the actual picture. Appears to be an Electra working man.

This is from the W C Handy BBQ and Blues Festival in Henderson, KY. The picture is from the www.courierpress.com Evansville Courier and Press, Henderson, KY Gleaner papers. The photographer is Darrin Phegley. Dave Schnerr, from Bob Minnette & The Dixieland Society, breaks out in solo during one of their last songs as the Street Strut ... You can likely find the whole information at www.courierpress.com. I tried to give complete credit, but if anyone objects to my posting this, I will remove it or change it to their liking. This photo is property of that sight/company/individuals and not anyone on this site.

It is a very good photograph but it was taken to capture the scene, obviously not the guitar. But look at the headstock, the wave and electra outline is visible, and if I altered the photo I could see it had the faint outline of a peace sign logo (not legible, but an outline). Notice the bolt neck, the finish, the slight upper body cutaway, and the three-way switch right above the volume and tone controls. It almost has to be vintage Working Man.

And David Schnerr played bass for the Fifth Dimension at one time from what I read.

Hahaha, nice! An X-280 Workingman. This particular one in the picture appears to be from 1983, the last year the X-280 was produced. You can tell from the headstock that has the silkscreened Electra logo with the Pheonix emblem underneath and it has the small-dot fret markers instead of the larger ones which adorned the earlier X-280/90's. Awesome picture!

And I'd like to add that the guy in the picture has impeccable taste when it comes to guitars ;-)
