Photobucket has changed something that now will keep your pictures from showing up unless you enable a "3rd party" feature. I presume to do this it will require a paid photobucket account.

So I am asking the team if they find a method to host their pics and allow them to be access by this page in a free manner (that photobucket used to do) then to please detail and document it on the page. As soon as we find a free reliable solution that can be verified we will document it here. My apologies, but we have no control over photobucket. They can change their rules anytime they want. So it is time to find something else. Please let us know here in this thread.

Thanks!

Attaching a test picture below. Someone tell me if you know who it is...

Way of the world, John!! Greedy b'stards do indeed require a paid up account to post 3rd party links; we've lost a major chunk of our photos at Westone AND Matsumoku and are p1ssed off at being held to ransom like that!!

Westone does have an in-house photo server called servimg. which works well, and apparently they say they won't ever charge for the service!!

I noticed this a week or so ago -

https://www.theverge.com/2017/7/4/15919224/photobucket-broken-images-amazon-ebay-etsy-paid-update

A search for "Photo Bucket blackmail" reveals the extent of this worldwide -

Like the Corsair said PB now requires a paid account to use your pics posted at their site - BOOM!!!!!!

I had to adjust my signature as a result - was getting the same message on all my forum posts -

I didn't think about it having an effect on any reference to PB everywhere - thought it was just for my PB account -

Life goes on ..........

So photobucket is a nogo.

Test #2 Imgur account posting test. Tell me what this is if you can see it! I can see it, but I have had Photobucket let me see something but not let others so it throws me off.

Image

If I get some feedback on this working well, the instructions for using Imgur is to sign on - I created an acct and can sign on using some existing accounts (such as FB). Then look to create a place to upload your pics, and use the upload feature. I did and it worked well. Once you click to view your individual pic, and use the 2nd option "direct link" and copy it to the clip board. Go to your electra page post and click "Img" and then paste your clip board contents. That should do it. But someone has to verify they see this picture and tell me what it is. It is possible I might see it but others can't. What is in this picture?

Awesome!

Create an Imgur account and move your stuff to that.
click your image at Imgur, and choose 2nd option, Direct Link, and it copies the link to your clipboard
Go back to Electra page and chose IMG option, and then paste (right click and paste or press <ctrl><v>)
Then you should be good to go.

I will start moving all my stuff off of photobucket.

Strewth!! That's all kinds of clunky from here, mate! Can't see me transferring 100's of photos over at that rate...

I modified the "How does one add pictures" post-it to include IMGUR instructions and to state that photobucket and other paid services no longer work. I also shortened the thread a bit. If you have a paid photobucket account it will likely work for you.
Hope that helps.

Sorry if it is clunky. If it is for you, just post your new ones up there (maybe not so bad then). I also go to The Gear Page forums and had to use it over there too. If someone finds new services that are less clunky please post. I surely don't want to leave anyone out. Also, if you want to pay photobucket to make it work for the convenience of it that is understandable. I have no idea what that will cost. Sorry.

I just created an account at Imgur, uploaded some pictures to replace the ones previously from Photobucket.
Here
viewtopic.php?f=15&t=8371&p=44543#p44542

I don't see the two options Thorny mentioned.
"click your image at Imgur, and choose 2nd option, Direct Link"

All I see is Copy, which I tried. The result is a link to my image on Imgur but no image. Next to Copy, I also see a drop down box with options to -
Edit Image
Get share links
Delete Image

These all appear just by hovering over image.

Right Clicking on a picture just gets me the usual browser choices. So I chose "copy image adress" and bingo, my picture appears, though they look huge.

I haven't replaced the pics of my older Workingman yet. Hoping for a better way with not so huge pics appearing.

I have re-posted the pics after resizing them and after I found the Direct Link, Thorny mentioned at Imgur. Added a few pics of the new and old bridges on my 2245.
Older Workingman pics to come.
