Vintage Electra. Right, stay on topic. What happened here? I know it’s been a long time since I checked in, but what a swinging place this used to be. Electras… still sitting on a room full, and Westones and you know, all the rest. Which to talk about?

I just laid a cherry Super Magnum on my great-nephew. Kind of a reward for being such a kick-ass player for his age. Let him go though about twenty guitars and pick one out. Just started working on an X810 sunburst I bought from Joe Cannon, ozarkcannon, not long before he died. Just now getting around to it. Fitting some missing bits to the neck inlay, new frets, bits of hardware. Some acid sweaty dude owned this one. Seem to be mostly playing the semi-hollow bodies these days, though the X199s are still my rocks. I have one that I’ve played about 100,000 miles on. I had five and just sold one. Have a few Spectrum FXs and X350s, but those X199s… it’s love.

So, Vintage Electras, hello again. Things come and go. I appreciate all that went down here over the years. Made some great friends. See you in those fields…

Hey there, bloke… yeah, mate - things are a bit quiet on all of the forums I used to frequent, and yeah; they WERE swinging places with all kinds of advice and information freely given… not so much these days.

And, you know, I don’t think all of the folk that made these places so good have gone to Facebook, or similar: I think they’ve just plain moved on in their lives?!

Anyway, I, too, have one of Joe’s guitars and treasure it deeply… and, d’ya know, he bought it and sent it to me before I even knew it was for sale!! He was one of the very best, and the world is SO much poorer for his loss.
The guitar in question is a Lady… just lovely to both play and look at…

I’d love to own a Spectrum FX, but the only one I’ve seen for sale at less than a kings’ ransom was in Rotorua, NZ and the pawn shop owner wouldn’t shift on the price, at all, so I walked and have been kicking myself ever since!!
