Hey!

I've been thinking of picking up an Electra compressor pedal, and I was wondering if there's anyone out there who's had experience with one. Also, I see other Electra pedals and rack-mount effects devices show up on eBay from time to time. Have any of you used/loved/hated any of these? Would it be worth sending in pics and reviews to add to Electraman's site?

Thanks in advance for any good advice or fun reading!

Matthew

No one's *ever* tried an Electra stompbox?

Okay, I know no one responded, but I can tell that people are viewing these posts, so I thought I'd let you all know that I did win an Electra Compressor pedal on eBay and got it about a week and a half ago. I was severely disappointed to find that, even with the level all the way up and the sensitivity all the way down, the pedal cut about a fifth of the signal coming out of my X-330, making it virtually useless in my setup.

It did sound alright going into my digital home recording device ( Boss BR-8 ), but I really wanted a compressor I could use live. To be honest, I was hoping it would be the same circuit Electra used in the MPC compressor module, but it certainly didn't seem that way. Therefore, long story short, it's already been re-sold on eBay. And I only lost $2!

Not a bad price to try it out, though!

Hope you're all enjoying your weekend! :D

I have seen aria and aria/diamond stompboxes, but I´ve never seen any electra effects.

I sold an Electra chorus box to Emerald City Music in Seattle complete with silver carrying case. Decent sounding unit but nothing really great

I've had quite few of them over the years. Some good some just O.K. I haven't had them since the early-mid eighties so my memory is not that good. Seemed like some of the delays were pretty good.

I've just won an Electra EQ stompbox, which is my top want in an fx chain. It looks like a 3-band with sliders, i'll let you know how it works out.

I almost bid on that EQ, but I couldn't justify it as I have a Boss EQ that works just fine. I did win the Electra Pedal Driver power supply thing a few weeks back. Kind of cool, if not very interesting.

Well, it seems like the Electra EQ is not nearly as strong as the Boss GE-7. It's not the difference between 6 bands and 7, it just seems to have less effect.

If anyone cares, I could record some samples for comparison and post them. Then again, not too many of these Electra pedals around anyhow. I would have to recommend the Boss unit to anyone looking for an EQ pedal, since they're a great pedal, easily available new or used.

The Electra pedal makes a nice vintage prop tho...
