This was one of the only guitars that could make me consider getting another-

yep, it's pink, i don't mind. can't be very common, i'm thinking. I drooled over rail guitars back in the day, now it's mine!

But it's so... pink :o :)

It's a very cool design with the sliding pickup that is quite unique. Does it use double ball end strings?

There's another rail on UK Ebay but it is seriously overpriced.

I presume it works the same way as the rail and headless basses, which use a clamp at the nut so you don't need the double-ended strings.

pink is all in the mind's eye. besides, it depends what clothes you wear :)

There's a rail bass on US ebay now too. Tempting, but I'm okay for now with my quantum, I'm not much of a bassplayer so that'll keep me busy.

I'd sure love to see a catalog with the rail guitars and basses. I know that the usual colors were black, red and white, never heard of a pink one. but who knows, anything's possible at Uncle Matt's...

Yes, you're right. The new pic shows the nut clamp clearly. It looks very much like a standard Floyd Rose type locking nut.

I used to have a Hohner B2, headless bass a couple of years ago. The problem with it was that it used double ball end bass strings and no stores in my vicinity at the time had any. As my bass skills were (and are) somewhat lacking, the standard joke was that "I'm up shite creek but at least I have a paddle". :)
