If looks are important you might be able to refinish the back of that neck or spray over that spot to hide it a bit. That looks like a nasty break. I hope it remains solid for you. I have a BAD BREAK on my Leslie West in a different spot and it was glued and holds fine (probably close to a year now, maybe not quite). Actually that guitar is really an excellent player and probably one of the best sounding ones I have too. Unfortunately it won't be worth anything beyond a player. But these can be excellent players. I have had several guitars with repaired headstocks and other damage that turn out to be fine guitars. Any damage like that should really have been disclosed.

I know a guy in Nashville that could make it so you'd never know it was ever broken - but it does not make sense on an inexpensive Electra such as yours or mine (unless you have some sort of emotional attachment to it). Shack did a refin on his, and something like that would do a good job making it less noticeable. And so have others on this board. But not everyone can refine on their own and do a respectable job. Usually it takes a lot of practice. Also, it may be hokey - but if the color is one easily matched and the chip not too major a lot of ills can be made less noticeable by a "sharpie" and some clear over top. It is a cheap fix, but if you can match the brown, it may look better. It won't ever be perfect - you'd have to veneer over it and refin to get close to perfection.

I suggest this only to make it look better, not to HIDE things so that they are not disclosed. I don't condone that. I try not to do that.

Yeah Thorny, this is a great playing guitar, and will only be that. But man, what a player it is! The peghead was broken in the past, starting at the same break I fixed, and continuing to just past the low and high E machineheads. There, it was a clean, square break. Whoever did that repair did a great job! I have been meaning to tune on the repair I made, but frankly, it felt so good in my hands after the repair, I've been too busy playing it!
I appreciate this forum so much, for all the killer guitars here, as well as all the characters that use it, and the knowledge they share! Thanks for putting this forum up!

there is a product from stew mac that is a rose wood putty and would fill the area and is stainable and printable, I would use that, sand, stain and paint with nitro brown then clear, its alot of work but it would be worth it imo

Im really liking a 57 classic in the neck and an old DP100 super distortion at the bridge in one of mine and a stock 490r and sin design Sinbucker LT in the other
