I had to pot a few pickups on MPC guitars due to excessive feedback. Every one was better for it. A few months ago I picked up a 2001 Tele 52 RI from a friend. He unloaded it because the feedback was so bad it was unusable. Dropped the bridge pickup in my wax mix for about 20 min and its now my go to guitar. I'm blown away by how great this pickup sounds. I'm a big believer in leaving things all original, UNTIL original becomes unusable. Sometimes pickups don't age well and need some help when the windings loosen. Pretty sure you educated me on potting pickups 25 years ago Thorny, Thanks!
