I give it only about a 50/50 chance of seeing this guitar actually change hands, either by a direct deal through this forum, or an ebay auction.

Dearest Electra Forums Posters:

Due to the negative comments, I would like to delete/negate this post.

I have a list of the genuine people who would like to own this nice guitar.

All of you people who make assumptions or are negative are left out.

Good bye and signing out forever on this topic.

Sincerely,

Tekmahn

I believe I have said nothing confusing or confounding.

I have an x910 I have no interest in and want to get into the hands of an interested person (and I believe I have found that person). I am not asking a fortune for it, just the fair value of it.

Concerning this guitar, there is nothing of mystery of it. It is either a modified pickup system of 5 way or 3 way and that's it. everything else is good. I thought I was doing a good thing by telling the Electra world of it's existance. Apparently, I was only opening myself up to a bunch of BS.

Good luck on finding another one! I'm ending my posts.

Strange for me to be saying this, tekmahn....but if you had initially posted this guitar here for sale at a fair price, it would have been long sold. I'm lookin one myself and am always ready to buy. So are these other guys.

As far as now refusing to sell to certain forum members for expressing their opinions......that doesn't reflect well on you. Get you some good course sandpaper and start rubbin that thin skin of yours daily till you get it toughened up some. You are accountable for what you type and how you convey it.

I personally hope you stay around the Electra Forums. We're always seeking new guys to join in on the conversations. And...we all get flamed once in a while for something we say or the way we put our thoughts and opinions to type. This forum isn't anywhere near as bad as some others.

I even had 4 whole pages of personal attack on another myself. Just sit back and enjoy it. It's all part of the fun.

I got in on this one late in the game and I was out of touch over the holidays;

Early in the conversation I did receive pics of this guitar via email from tekmahn which I opened and saved after getting back from the holidays -

It looks to be in very good condition - but what has been changed internally - if anything - is up to speculation;

The neck pickup has definitely been changed but the overall condition?

See for yourself:

Well, that looks pretty darn awesome. Better than I expected.

Like I said before, if he is serious about selling it, he should either put it on ebay with no reserve, or name his price to the forum and negotiate in good faith.

Good luck to the seller, and congratulations to any buyer who can successfully close the deal.

I offered $800 sight unseen when he first mentioned it.

At this point I think I'm going to stay far away from it, particularly since I don't have the right pickup to put in the neck position.

The line you see is where there is a wood lamination, you can obviously see the darker part where the tuners are also, so this is actually a three piece Mahogany neck. As a trivia note, I believe this is one of the only Electras that had a Mahogany neck (I'm sure somebody will correct me now). Unless you start off with a eight inch wide piece to begin with, there has to be some lamination going on at the headstock. Curiously enough when they break it's down by the nut and first fret on the main piece. I just tried to find the picture of X189's busted X910 unsuccessfully, if I find it I'll repost it here.

the Outlaw MPCs (both bass and treble (except the maple one)) were mahogany neck thrus.

Good call, how could I forget??

I found that pic of Paul's X910 nasty shipping accident:

I've also seen the headstock on these separate down that 2nd lamination that runs right over the tuner holes, which when you look at it is a really curious place to put a seam. Whomever snags this, make sure its shipped carefully as Ultra pointed out. Cheers, Mike.

Did this thing ever sell? I know a few of you guys gave tekmahn some hell about it and his sales approach. Hey, he has or had an X910 and since has made some very contributing posts about his guitars and interest in Electras. Glad he had thick enough skin to stick with the gang here after the initial slapping around he took over this guitar.

It looks darn good to me and I would not let the pickup stop me from buying it.

I would assume that he has decided to keep it. I know that I would never part with one if I had the good fortune to own one. Once you play it it's over as it plays so nice in my opinion. I would guess that after he tried it out again he was hooked by it,s playability. I again welcome him to the forums and thank him for all the pics and input he has shared with us all. This forum is a must for any electra lover and is a wealth of knowledge for us all as we all contribute to the data here. thanks again to all for taking the time to share my love of the Electra Brands. :up:
