here's a shot of a warranty card I found in the case of a guitar I bought, alas, not the card for that guitar. It was apparently attached to an '80 Electra X280 Workingman, but it looks like the original owner didn't get around to mailing it in.

I remember the same card being attached to my'84 Electra Phoenix X189, so I presume the same card was used for a variety of models over a period of years.

If by some rare chance somebody out there is the present owner of X280 #077836, I'd be happy to give them this card for free. I can't imagine it's worth much, as the serial number is handwritten by the first owner (or, I suppose, the music store?) but it would be a neat bit of ephemera to be returned to the guitar it came with. Otherwise, it will reside in my collection of odds and ends.

If anyone wants to use these images for their Electra archives, they're welcome to do so. I've posted larger copies (where you can actually read the fine print) at http://www.nwlink.com/~paulcl/guitars/

cheers,
paul

Good Point. I didn't think about the electronics, of course there'd be glitches. And I guess I realize all my experience with them has been with the auto-painted solid bodies, which are so bulletproof. More complicated laminates and bindings and finishes could offer lots more room for problems.

But still, I bet the defect rate is pretty low.
