hi there,
I have just joined you're fascinating community, and i wanted to say hi. I'm 27, living in Sheffield UK. been playing 18 years. Bought a Westone Prestige 250 many years ago, and i now have a Thunder 1A. I have always wondered about the origin of these instruments, and it wasn't until i started researching recently, that i realised that 5 out of the 7 instruments i have owned were made at the Matsumoku factory. Both Westones are pristine, and play beautifully, although the Prestige is my favourite. Its good to find a community of fellow enthusiasts such as yourselves. Many thanks... :P

Hello and welcome Deztone
We would love to see pics of your guitars.
You can paste links to them from your web in a reply or
if you need help just ask and we'll show you how.

Example: Skylark MIJ

These images are a tad small but you get the gist of it.

WELCOM! I come to this site every grreat now and then, and always find it very interesting, I have gotten lost here for hours before reading posts and occationally replying.
I prefer guitars that are not domestic, I think most are simply made better, at any price, the fact that they are often cheaper is a bonus. I thought I knew a lot about guitars but I have found that there are a lot of very informed guys that come here, and I have leanred a great deal from their posts.

hi there,

To link to your pics in the message editor:
1. First upload the pics to your web page.

2. Copy the location (url) of the pic.

3. Paste that link (url) to the pic when replying or posting a new message.

4. Select that line and click on the "Img" button in the formatting toolbar.

It will automatically insert the needed code to show the pic.

Example:
This is the url to a pic which I'll paste into the editor.
http://members.dslextreme.com/users/jb0 ... _front.jpg

Then I highlight that line and click on the "Img" button in the toolbar to make it look like this:

or you can send the pics to me in an email attachment. See your PM

be sure to uncheck the check box marked 'Disable BBcode'. this is also something you can set in your Profile. The syntax above is correct though.

That is exactly it. You're getting hotter.
But notice your example is pointing to a web page and not an image filename.
http://www.geocities.com/deztone/presti ... 1465620490

The above url is pointing to a page that contains your image.
I went there and RIGHT clicked on the image then chose "Copy Image Location". (mozilla) or "Copy Shortcut" (IE)

That gave me the direct link to the image that we can paste into a message to show the pic.

The url should look like this:
http://www.geocities.com/deztone/prestige250-1-1.gif
Then I'll highlight that line and click on the"Img" button to get the below result.
Abra Cadabra, Presto Change-o
Image

You could also paste the url to the page itself so one could also visit it.
In that case you would use the "URL" button thusly to get the hot link shown below.
http://www.geocities.com/deztone/prestige250.html?1101465620490

BTW: that is a mighty fine looking instrument, mighty fine indeed.

AAAH yes that makes sense now. That's not my Prestige unfortunately, but i do have a very similar one. I was using that image to experiment. Just building a site for the first time. Geocities seems simple enough. Gonna need more space though. I'm presuming you can just keep opening more accounts and setting links to them. Isn't free stuff fun...

here they are then. the Prestige is my baby but they both play beautifuly:

i'll get a picture of the Rainbow up at some point. I've been trying to figure out how to fix it. The bridge pickup isn't working and the only way in is through the f-hole, or under the pickups. Unfortunately my large hands weren't made for the fiddly bits. I'll have to find a small person. I would take it to a shop, but the last time it got taken to a shop to refinish a nick in the lacquer, the bloke said that it wasn't worth enough money for him to bother with. hmmmm. not good business. anyway, hope you're all well....

I bet it's the selector switch. Two out of three times I get a dead pickup, it's the selector switch.

Nice to have you aboard, btw!

thanks 189, its good to find a vent for my guitar enthusiasm. Somehow, women dont find the converstaion quite as interesting as I do, so my girl thanks you too lol! I'll have a look at the selector switch on the Rainbow. It hadn't occured to me it may be that. I hope it is coz it's gonna be a pain otherwise....
