Hello fellow Electra enthusiasts. I just started playing my x-190 again. I bought it new in 1984. Its the blue burst color. I bought a Mexican made Telecaster in the early 90's and have been playing it since, relegating my Electra to a back up. HOWEVER I recently bought a new amp. A Marshall MF series. So I thought I'd break out the Electra because humbuckers are usefull with a powerful amp. I forgot how much I loved that guitar. The Phoenix is great. My new band is going to playing 80's covers so the color is perfect.

Cool, and welcome! I bought mine in 84 too, though mine's a red 83. I always found that it gave every sound I ever needed better than any other guitar. Plus, when playing covers you need a guitar that will switch style and sound very easily and quickly, and the Electra does all that!

I also have an 84 red burst Electra Westone that's the sibling of yours, I got it because I wanted a second guitar onstage for open tuning, but which was otherwise identical to my main axe!



I'd love to see pics of yours, especially if you get any pics in performance!

I can take some current pictures. But I have some from about 1992 on stage. I'll have to find that one.

I said it was a Phoenix. It's not. Wasn't the Phoenix the crazy shaped guitar?

No, the Electra Phoenix was renamed Electra Westone for 84, and then Westone Spectrum in 85 and 86, but it's all the same guitar as yours and mine. I seem to recall some site showing a Dynasty and calling it a Phoenix, but it's not.
