I have just bought one of ebay, waiting for it to arrive, it needs some attention though.

This bass has been on a long journey USA, Northern Ireland now hopefully England, it may just find a home with me, it does not have any of it's original electrics they are lost in the USA somewhere... more soon. :) still waiting....

update
I have just noticed in the Westone Catalogues that the Super Headless FS uses Magnabass V pup's, there seems to be only 2 other bass models that uses them which are the 1998 Spectrum Series II (SPB311) and the 1986 5 String Pantera X775, I am not sure how rare these bass models are......

hurry up Mr Postman and deliver my Super Headless.

It has arrived, the bottom bout has been broken and fixed by a luthier at some pont (Nice job), the frets are in excellent condition, It is fitted with Status electrics and Pup's, about £250 quids worth if new.

this bass just needed a loving  home, a bit of patience and time and she will throb like a good'un again.

I say she, her name is Marie cuz she is Headless :)

Pictures soon.

Westone Super Headless FS
Imagel
Anyone any idea what FS stands for?

Gaffer Tape holding the none original thin plastic covers in place, Sad!

Bridge and Tuning, the black screws are missing from the plate that says Westone on it. Mmmm could be difficuilt to source replacements.

Inside the electrics cavity, the original red colour on show, according to the catlalogue this model only came in one colour. or I should say Red Wings with a dull black  centre stripe.

Purely guessing for the fun of it:

FS = Full Scale (since Marie has no head, maybe they wanted to make the point in the name that she still had a typical bass fingerboard?)

If not even close, maybe at least it'll get the ball rolling on other guesses... :)

Could be!

The other model is called Super Headless RC, again not sure about that one either, I am in the middle of taking Marie apart at the moment.

Just noticed that the body is very similar to the Pantera Basses, oh and Marie does not have a serial number. although I can just make out a number in neck pickup cavity ?2 112

empty rear cavities are the same size as the Westone Thunder I-A bass, that could come in handy. The vertical strip you can see is a line of glue. which is part of the fix I mentioned earlier in this post.

I am probably going to paint it a solid red colour with a dull black  stripe as opposed to the see through red it used to be, that is because of the condition of the wood on the outside of the lower bout, ahh now onto the sanding.

Well it looks cool the way it was to me... looks a lot like a 'modern' headless...

I notice from another post you have the humbucker version, or to give yours it's full title "Westone Super Headless RC" mine is still in the condition you have seen earlier in this post so I have not painted it as of yet.

I suppose it does look quite good in the pictures, but we are probably a bit biased being one of the few owners of these extremely rare Westone's.

Is there a serial number on yours? if so where is it.

Yep, same place as the rest of 'em: the head (or where the head should start), back side. Looks kinda stamped, I think it's easy to remove it when stripping the paint...

Somebody tried to make yours look like a Status, that's for sure. No Westone knobs there too... anyway, some previous owner altered mine too, some new tone control, but I'm not sure there. It's done OK (no new holes) and it works :-)

give it a gentle touch with super-fine steel wool, then wipe it all down with a tung oil finish!

Pantera: Any chance of some pictures of your "Super Headless RC".

X189Player: At the moment it as a light coating of wax.
I read somewhere on how to remove it was with Methylated Spirits (Meths).

That is one nice bass guitar Pantera.

I have just noticed in one of your pictures that the nut for the trussrod is at the body end of the neck, mine is at the headless end. see pic.
Image
also the only other Super Headless FS I have seen has a different stump profile if you no what I mean, see this pic.

Update
Just noticed after looking at a closeup picture of a rail bass that the neck above the nut is about 1 inch in length where as mine is about a 1/4 of an inch, maybe FS stands for Freakin' Strange :)

Funny... my neck is the same as here, can't find a pic of yours though... the neck on my SH is very much like the one on my Quantum.
