There is an article in the current issue about Matsumoku.

I emailed them to ask if there was a chance, somehow, that we UK followers of Uncle Mat might be allowed a peek at the feature.

The article will probably turn up on their website at some future date. Frankly I found it didn't tell us much more than we already knew.

I wonder if there is any mention of this site or us here in that article?

It would be cool to see the article. It's a shame the magazine isn't sold over here. I expect that he's probably used this site as a source for much of the article. That would explain why there aren't much news.

The downside to the article is that it might affect prices.

The mag is available in the UK, at Borders bookshops (At least, at some of them)

Got a copy from Borders - quite a disappointing article. Several of the dates given are obviously wrong, so I can't tell how accurate it is about things I didn't know, and it's written from the USAcentric point of view that Westones were produced in partnership with St Louis Music (Definitely not the case in the UK or Europe)

Yes, there's certainly confusion between the non-US Westones (which you find in the UK) and the SLM WEstones, which were a re-branding of the SLM Electras. Even more confusing, the SLM Westones began to be sold outside the US, so you do find Spectrums and the occasional Dynasty and Dimension IV in Europe, even though they were designed by Tom Presley at SLM. The later UK Westone catalogs had flyers for the SLM Westones slipped inside as supplements.

All great guitars, but the SLM Westones and non-SLM Westones are about as different as a Skylark from an Electra (which is to say some similarity as Uncle MAtt guitars, but rather different in many respsects).
