Hi, Electra forum.

I'm really glad this place exists! I've always been somewhat interested in, uh, 'marginal' instrument manufacturers, and the willingness of Electra to do things (especially design-wise) that the bigger manufacturers wouldn't do is a number one reason why I like such things in the first place. But I digress...

A guy I met recently found out that I've been looking to get an EB3 for a while, and wants to sell me his 2261, but the whole reason I want an EB3 is because I'm looking to get a short scale bass. Meanwhile, the pictures I've seen of the 2261 make it look as though the bass neck is full-scale.

Does anyone know which it is? Is the 2261 actually a knockoff of a EB3-L?

yes, the 2261 bass is a long (34") scale bass. The only SLM Electra short scale bass (other than the rare Beatle Bass) was the Rock Bass (LP Bass copy, which was 30.5")

I guess, technically, the Corsair Basses were 33.5" and 33.25", and there was an early PBass copy that was 33.5"....
