It's a black Spectrum, I think...the one that looks sorta like a cross between an SG and a strat...

It sounds great, but it's a little heavy for me...and now it doesn't work...

Wiring issue?

First thing that goes wrong on these guitars is the input jack. That's the first thing I'd check- try removing the back control cover and running jumper wires to hook directly to the volume pot (remember that if your jumper wires are non-shielded, it'll add hum, but that's ok).

Next most likely thing would be something getting shorted out, leads bent or something. Then possibly a bad selector switch. But almost never do you see pickups fail- and certainly not both of them.

How many pickups? 3?
