Hi all, am new to this forum, and I see I have a ton to read to catch up.
I will eventually read evey post here.

I have an Electra X180 It looks just like the picture in the models page.
It Might be an X190-hard to tell, they look the same
The desription says theres not much known about it. I dont know much more either.

It's heavy, has a great sound and sustain for days.

It's in rough looking shape these days, and needs a total refret job, which I will do myself. and a fresh coat of paint. I would like to return it to it's original appearance

Is there a place to get the original headstock decals?

Or maybe I'll just paint it in VanHalen colors

I didn't realize that these guitars (electras) were a collectors item. I bought mine from a guy when I was in the Marine Corp. in about '84. It had such great sustain I had to have it. Now it doesn't get used much, It just sits there next to a couple nice Warmoth guitars.

Any other owners of this model here? or do I have the only one?

Yes, I can post A pic, If I can figure out how to do so.

I am embarrased to post one though as I ruined the original paint 10 years ago, when I painted it.

It was my only axe for 15 years and needed paint, and to be honest, it looked great when I was done, but 10 years later as my only axe still,
It got thrashed. I regret painting the front of the headstock. the back and serial numbers however are still intact.

The original color was a dark metalic greyish green, I have fleeting memories of the color sorry.

I am interested as many of you are , in finding and collecting these Electra guitars. I have 20 Guitars, only One electra, Thats gonna change.

And to the moderator here, as for people writting in asking the value of their Electra, don't give them a hard time about being selfish and not giving anything back, it's not about that. I have had this guitar for almost 25 years, I dont know what I have. But I do know this, It's worth more to me than I can sell it for, I say welcome all with open arms bro

If they don't know what they got , make em an offer, and make it cheap.

It's gonna talke me a month to read all these posts, and 2 months to figure out how to post a pic.

You may be able to use an appropriate paint remover (if you can remember what kind of paint you used) to gently uncover the logo. If it works then mask the area before doing a second refinish.

Some of the logos are inlays rather than decals. I don't know about on yours but I am sure someone here does.

Welcome! And you're right about the value- you'll not get a hard time here. (Seriously, we do occasionally get some really rude ebay sellers, not like you at all).

Looking forward to the pics!
