Hi, I have few questions regarding Electra necks. Currently I have a 3 Electras - an Omega, x410 and black beauty with the bolt on neck.
The 410 is by far the best playing and has my fav neck style. I replaced the PUP's with SD Phat Cats (humbucking sized P90's). That gave me great cut and a wicked lead tone but sacrifices some rhythm crunch.
The Omega gets me that great crunch and I really like the tone I get with it but the neck is a little fat (for my smaller hands). Did all Omegas come with the thick LP58 style neck?
The bolt on black beauty has the thinner neck but has that cheap "bolt on" feel. What I really want is a an Electra LP style guitar with the x410 (or gibby 60's) SET neck. Any suggestions?

Also how does the 935 endorser style guitar play/feel/sound?

Finally which Les Paul style Electra is regarded as their finest (workmanship, playablity, etc)?

your comments are appreciated,
thanks!

There's wide difference, you're right. And there's at least two styles of bolt-neck black beauty- diagonal logo and round-e (old style).

Certainly any of the later MAtsumoku-made models with X-numbers are likely to be the best. And it depends how narrow your definition of a LP is- for instance, the X935 Endorser is definitely evolved from an LP, with its '1 1/2' cutaway. Yet a mahogany body & maple cap- it's clearly LP inspired. If that's close enough, then most likely an X935 is the premium of that general style.

I say most likely because who knows? Some really excellent instruments often lurk in humble models, just waiting to be realized by a proper setup. But in general, the higher priced models did receive more attention and care, so that would either be one of the MPC's or an Endorser, I'd say. But let's hear some opinions from the LP fans out there- it's not the style I know the most about.
