I could not post to the anouncemnts page so I am posting here.

Wow and Mega thanks to X189 for the new pages. I don't know of any other brand of guitars, including the big F and G, that have such comprehensive information so clearly laid out.

Just a note, the X290 is listed as having an ash body. From looking in the pickup cavity of mine, it looks like mahogany. it is definitly a darker wood than ash. I know specifications were subject to change.

Glad you like it!

The body wood was listed that way in the old site, and I was skeptical of it, but I don't have those models myself.

Do you have pics of your guitar? It would be great to have more, and if you can provide a closeup of the grain we can probably identify it that way. Any wood can be stained any color, but the grain pattern is what tells. I'm guessing you're right, as mahogany would be a great choice for that guitar.

(actually since you mentioned it, there's a really great site for fender guitars: http://www.provide.net/~cfh/fender.html

And a really good one for Gibson Vees: http://www.flying-v.ch/ )

I don't have my camera right now but should have it this weekend. I will try to take some pictures then.

The wood could be hard to photograph as it is only visable in the pickup cavity; the control cavity is painted and I don't want to remove the neck. I will do my best. I don't think the wood has been stained as it would be an unsuaul step before applying the black poly. Why stain something that is never going to show?

Is there any particular details or format that I should try for in the general pictures?

Oh right, it's the black one! You're probably right then- makes sense. Mahogany is the only really dark wood I think that was used on Electras aside from the walnut accent stripes on X150's and such. Very cool to know that!

Any format is fine- I'll PM you and you can email them to me if you need help compressing, resizing, etc.
