Hi,
I just recently bought an Omega X220 and am trying to figure out what each knob and switch does. By reading about the MPC 5-way switch I figured this out:
Position 1 gives you both pickups in series and in phase.
Position 2 gives you Bass pickup only.
Position 3 gives you both pickups in parallel and in phase with each other (standard Les Paul both pickups or middle switch position).
Position 4 gives you Treble pickup only.
Position 5 gives you both pickups in series but out of phase with each other.

Is this correct for the X220 also? What do the two switches control?

I think I figured out one knob is tone and the other volume.

Thanks,
gooddoug

I would guess the two switches are coil tap and phase reverse. Coil tap should make the pickups sound thinner and more trebly. Phase Reverse only works when both pickups are selected, it makes a distinctive quack tone that's accentuated by coil tap.

I believe the two switches have caps on them. The one is for neck and the one is for bridge respectively. They are "color" switches.

Thanks for the input. I will play with them more and actually decided I need to clean them since I'm getting a little crackle out of them. Maybe when I'm back there I can verify what they do.

Cool, if you look at the omega section of this http://www.rivercityamps.com/electra/c77.php catalog the type is tiny but it says something to the effect of tone spectrum circuitry (which is the five way) and the addition of capacitors for each pick up give a variety of sounds. So let us know. Personally I don't know if it's the earlier pick ups or what, but I think my omega is very muddy sounding in all configurations. Not very much high frequency. I have been considering hand winding some PU's at my friends shop and turning it into a LP wiring and saving all the other stuff in case I ever sell it. I did this to a super rock that already had some after market PU's and it sounds awesome. I put it up against my buddies LP and it was really hard to tell the difference.
