I heard that you can date your Electra guitar by looking at the serial numbers first two digits (example serial # 79*** would mean it was a 1979), however my Omega serial number begins with 11
Hmmm! What year could it be?

well, the date by serial number thing only works after a certain date- what date? we don't know. Probably 1980... I've never seen an earlier serial nubmer that follows the pattern.

If the third digit is also 1, then I'd say your Omega could have been built in 11/81... but I don't think they were making Omegas that late... so I'd guess it's 1979 or earlier, and the serial number doesn't indicate date.

So is there no way to determine the exact Mfg. date?
