Hello,

I have an Electra Omega X220. The pickups feed back any time I engage more than one gain based effect on my pedal board. I have been doing a little bit of research and it seems other people that have owned this model have had the same problem. While reading a review of the guitar I read where another guitarist recommended taking the pickups out of the guitar and dipping them in hot wax for about 1 minute and then letting the wax solidify in order to solve this feedback problem? Has anyone on this forum ever tried this procedure? I was planning on searching for a new set of pickups, but the feedback is the only dislike I really have. Still, I am a little shy about dipping the pickup in wax so feedback from any of you on this would be great!!

Thanks!
Blake

I myself have never tried it, but because of the fact you haven't either, i'd say take it to a pro, or practice on some useless pickups out of a Gibson or something. :D
But, do not think about switching them.
Sorry, but emphasis is key.

Yes they can be dipped or use the foil tape kits in the pick up cut outs. To get an idea of what you need and have to do go to stewart mcdonald.com and go to the pick up section. They have videos of how to do this and photos and instructions on how to do the foil. Go to the glue pot to find how-tos on that. If you arent ready to try it yourself the guy at the music shop can do it. Anyway, there are lots of options before you change the pick ups.
