Hello EveryOne, my Name is Scott and I'm the Proud New owner of a Electra SG 2259. Just got it Today for a Song.. I've been admiring Electra's for the Last 25+yrs but never ran into any for Sale or better yet Played any Except my older Sister's Ex B/F's back in early 80's.. He had a Electra LP MPC.. I do remember it quite well.. it was a Trip to Me that it had on-Board effects.. I'd never seen anything that Kewl before.. So Flash Many Years later and I'm Cruising C/List and this Pops Out at Me .. Electra SG Copy .. So I went out to Oakland,Calif and had a Look and Made a Deal.. Man I'm Totally STOKED.. this thing is Beautiful.. Dents, Dings, Scratches and ALL.. Looks ALL stock except it has Much needed (from what I've read) Grover Tuners.. and a kill Button And that's it... I had thought it had a Gibby Humbucker or something else in the Bridge but after a closer inspection it looks Original. it's Most likely a 2259 w/o Tremelo.. No holes.. Tune o matic ? Bolt Neck And NO sticker or Serial.. a Open book style HS.. this thing has a Very Kool Vibe-Aura.. I always wanted an LP Electra and/or Vintage Gibby SG.. I've got a Samick SG450 or two around here hiding... So a Question if Might.. this SG Looks to be a Very early model. it has a Badge instead of inlay on HS saying Electra.. and Large 500k Pots..... So if the Catalog goes only to "72 Could this possible be a "71 or better yet a "70 ? Whatever Year it is it's My New #1 Player.. It sounds KILLER and other then a slight ground issue, it Plays AWESOME ! I'm going to have it buried w/ Me when it's time to go.. Might need a Good 'Axe' in the Afterlife... lol Thanx in Advance for any info I receive. Cheers.. ps This Site ROCKS.. Lots of Great info Great Job on Lay out of Site..... 10 Thumbs Way Up (~_o S.A ps I can't figure out how to Post Pic's of it ..?

There really is no really good way to date early Electras.
Because we can't be completely sure where it came from, and because there is no serial, who knows?

Oh, and pictures. Can't forget to ask!
:D

What's the mini-toggle, coil tap?

Oh, I got it.
I personally go Tom Morello for killswitches and turn one pickup volume to "0" and use the selector.
