this video is of david allen coe in 1983 i think. the white guitar on the left of the stage looks like an electra to me. maybe a phoenix? i dont know the models that well except for the endorser which i have. thanks for any ideas if this is an electra or not. seems like more pros played them than what i thought. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7HjDbUC_ ... re=related

i forgot to mention that the first time you can really see the guitar in this video is about the 15 second mark. and its about the best you can see it through the whole video.

Definitely an Electra Phoenix. Twin humbuckers and four knobs makes it an X155, the first white Phoenix and the only one I can think of that had a white painted headstock.

That was a deluxe flagship model, and that pearl white finish would be ideal for TV work as it isn't such a bright white that it would swamp the cameras- but not so yellowish as 'TV yellow' that was intended for B&W cameras and very bright lights. It makes me wonder if Tom or someone at SLM had this in mind when they picked the Pearl White finish?

Great spotting!

thanks for responding. great info you had there. if everyone likes looking at these types of posts i will continue to put them on here when i come across one. i put another one on here that looks like an endorser to me but not sure. i dont look for electras specifically in these videos i just happen to see them sometimes. i think its great to see them being used in their prime on a pro scale.

The X-155 is like the best of both worlds.
Phoenix looks with humbuckers, full control setup, and beautiful finish.
