I just wanted to give a HUGE thanks to both Proendorser and X189player!

Proendorser was a fabulous host, and was very generous in letting us all fondle his great amps and guitars. He had a fantastic studio all set up, including some very tallented musicians to come help us out with drums and bass. I think he thought of everything. Thanks a bunch!

Also, The stuff that X189 sent was top notch. I would have had a really tough time letting go of any of that stuff. I am now the proud owner of the black Westone, it will be a well used and cherished addition to my collection. Thank you very much!

My hats off to both of these guys. I had a great time. I will definately be in attendance when this happens again.

Blessings, Paul

I couldn't agree more Robot_dr.

Proendorser really went all out on the 'fest and provided a fantanstic time to the attendees. The jams were particularly cool with his bandmates. And a big shout out to proendorser's lovely girlfriend who stepped up to play bass on day two along with Robot_dr's son on drums, and to proendorser's son, who took many (almost all?) of the great pictures, and generally kept proendorser organized and focused! There was no WAY were were missing 3pm on Sunday - I can tell you that! :D
A really fantastic job, and it came off so well (at least from my perspective). Big hit for the first Electrafest. I think with the success of the 2009 'fest, we should start thinking about 2010....

And to X189. I just really can't express my gratitude for your generosity. All of the pieces donated were truly worthy, and a few were just, well, exceptional. We were all just so jazzed sitting around playing and talking about the pieces - it really made the 'fest that much more special. And, like Robot_dr, I am now the proud owner of a new-to-me Electra that will be a cherished addition to the collection. And, no worry, you all will DEFINATELY be seeing the 'Burn Victim' again at a future 'fest near you!

Thanks again to all of you, and here's to EF2010!

I too, cannot really find a way to accurately repay you.

You put forth a lot of cash (both in shipping and instrumental value) just for a bunch of guys on the internet.
And, moreover, you gave me the chance to own a Futura, which will never happen again.

I can answer this!

One day I was riding my motorcycle to work as usual, and there was a guy with his car stalled on the bridge- not a good place to be stranded. I pulled over, and it turns out he was out of gas. I started searching, but not very long, because you can find anything by the side of the road if you look hard enough, especially when it's an empty bottle. It only took a minute to loosen the fuel line at the tank and dispense a buck's worth of gas- enough to get the car started and down the ramp to a gas station. He thanked me profusely, and tried to offer to pay for the gas, but I waved him away with a smile and the same thing I always say, and I say it to you:

"Just pass the favor along."

So don't thank me, just keep it in mind when you upgrade your stuff, or discover that you weren't as interested in a project as you thought, oryou got a new pedal and the old one is collecting dust. Sometimes you have a family member and it goes to them. But if not... think about next year's ElectraFest and see what you might want to donate.

I think it would be cool if there were a lot of things big or small. I might even register next time- I won't be choosing any guitars, but maybe there'll be a weird set of knobs I like or something. So that's the idea- like a multifamily garage sale where half the stuff ends up going to one of hte others that needs it. That's my plan with all this, is building community. Good guitars attract good people, and it's always nice to build our extended family of fellow enthusiasts.

And don't worry about me, I still have guitars to play, like this one:

That is a very good point X189. Kind of a 'pay it forward' type of thing....

Good Lord, that's a gorgeous Concert Pro man, as if I need to jones for anything right now... I like your 'pass it on' philosophy, and have often tried to live by the Karma theory myself.

I too would like to thank X189, we'll all be talking about this for weeks (months!), and I think the 'Island of misfit Guitar Projects' theme will be forever associated with ElectraFest, so take a peek in your basements people, maybe you have something to donate for next year? If there's anything I've learned this week, its that one mans junk is another mans treasure.

It was my idea to have a gathering, but X189 really (brilliantly) took it to a whole 'nother level by including all of the people who just couldn't travel to Michigan on a moments notice, or are sitting at their desks drinking in the items and images, making the wheels turn in their heads. This is what life is all about, sharing... sharing experiences, information, and sometimes even stuff.

I'd like to also send out a huge 'Your Welcome' to all that participated, entered into the drawing or just watched from afar, this has been a great event. A very humbled Mike.

And thank -you- ProEndorser, for getting the idea going in the first place, and giving it a home.

So... next year at the same end of the country? Or move it around?

That could work too. SLM was always mainly a midwest distributor, so it wouldn't make sense to meet in, say, California...

For next year I would be happy to help carpool. If you can get to NYC; I will get you to Electrafest.
