Big guitar fan here! Owner of a late '70s Electra MPC LP since late '82. I see my pal Formula 73 has been onboard. We are both guitar 'ho's for sure. I'm a big Explorer and Explorer shaped guitar fan. Seen any Electra Explorers lately?

Guitar pron when I get my MPC back from Ben Chafin. :o Ben is one of the s(l)ickest guitar builders I've ever met. Cant wait to see what Sonny feels like when it returns from a tuneup and examination. Ben wanted to use my MPC to get some feel for the specs of these. I will post more about mine soon. Until then, Rawk On!!!

I've never owned any MPC modules for it but position 4 and 1 on the 5 way are my favorites.

Thanks! I left the white athletic tape on there WAY to long. :-? Ben told me he might have it gone when I get it back. Either way I'm good. Does nothing to it's playability. Now the corroaded bridge saddles, they are another story. I imagine they will be replaced if not the whole bridge. The tailpiece is pretty toasty too. But it adds character. Maybe change the bridge but keep the tail. :D

Ben doesn't need my guitar to make a great guitar. I have had several guitars setup by him and two complete rebuilds. He did a build of a late '70s Mighty Mite(think Wayne Charvel)Explorer with an all Maple Hamer Daytona(Strat) neck mated to it. WOW!!!!!!

Talked to Ben a little while ago. He has cleaned up my fretboard and gotten the tape residue off the back. Next in the works is to put a new battery plug on and check out all the electronics in Sonny Boy. Cant wait to get it back after talking to Ben.

I like where he is going with the Electra brand name and I bet you guys will too.

I had to talk with him today about a Hamer T51(Tele) that needs help and ended up giving him two more jobs to do for me on that and a Czech made Korina Dean Z(Explorer). I'm getting the Z from Dean Guitars. It was a B stock guitar they have never sold due to damage during shipping initially. They repaired it but it was to Fugly to be sold. Dean held a silent auction at the Dean Open House in February to benifit a music for kids charity locally. I bought the Z. I thought for sure I would be outbid. :P  Plays great, Looks like H3LL but nearly brand new. :D :o :-? Thought the guys in the build shop over there might spruce it up but they are busier than a one legged man in a buttkicking contest.

Life IS Good!

It was the dried adhesive residue from white medical tape, you know like they use to wrap ankles, fingers, or ??? back in the "Ancient" daze of the '80s and before. :D
