First, I want to thank fellow member Aaron Bates for talking with the owner in Ohio who wouldn't ship, picking it up for me, and shipping the guitar to me here in North Carolina. Lot of trouble, and I appreciate it.

The guitar turned out to be in pretty good condition....a bit of plating wear on the pup covers and some fretboard finger wear.....very few dents and dings and fantastic action. Much better than what I expected. In addition to a nice TKL hardcase. I'm pretty darn happy with it...all around. And...it's a nice buddy to my maple Magnum. Love those torches.

Great score. I had been looking at that one for some time but never could get the seller to consider shipping. Congrats on a good score.

Nice guitar. Is this a 2257? I see reference to that on the 'net but not on the Index of Models page.

There is such a model as the 2257, but I don't believe you'll find it in any catalogs. I've seen at least four of them over the years (in listings, not in person) and they've all (the ones that I've seen) had the Mini Humbuckers installed. There is at least one or two forum topics about this, although I've never heard X189 weigh in on it, so don't take my word for it.

I'm callin it a 2257 until I hear otherwise. Everything else aside from the pups on the other very few I've seen have been the same. There is a nice, detailed pic of the mini pup model in the '74 catalog. From the use of a pickup surround plate on that model, I'd say that they are all routed the same....regardless of type pup used.

There's a 1974 Catalog? I didn't know that. There is no mention or scans on the catalog page on the website archives: http://www.rivercityamps.com/electrapag ... category=2

There are '82, '77 and '72 catalog scans, but none from 1974. If anyone has one, we need to scan the pages and add them to the Board Index, which Thorny or X189player can do.

Regardless of model designation, you got a pretty one there JD, enjoy it!

Man, I may have to take the plunge and sign up for a month or six... looks like lots of cool catalogs for tons of companies. Of course anything I'm interested in requires a ID to view, dangit! Decisions, decisions...

Yeah, I hate that we can't look at them without joining and paying.

8) I have visited that site before and it looks to be a great site with lots of good info and catalogs but I never sprang for the fee to view.

Steve is a good guy, very helpful...I pay 6 months at a time, been a member there for years. He searches out all these catalogs and brochures, buys them, and puts em up for viewing. It's only fair that he make some of his money back.

I concurr. That is a wealth of knowledge on the Electra models as well as many others and scanning and posting all those catalogs takes time and patience.
