ElectraFest 2010 was a great event, and I would like to thank all the guys who made it possible. Firstly, if you haven't already, you need to check out the videos that Redeye uploaded, starting with this whirlwind tour of the Facility:

http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/8342112

I think there are about 20 other videos of various lengths too, grab a drink, sit back and enjoy. The 'Facility' was AWESOME, one of the nicest studios in the Nation, big thanks to UltraSonic for arranging this and for telling us all the cool things that he had input on, as this was specifically designed and built for recording, just a great, great place. In addition, Ultra had many friends help out with loading, security and performing... nothing was left up in the air, Major Kudos man!

Thanks to Redeye for getting the web streaming happening, and investing a lot of time (which could have been spent playing guitars...) to make it happen two days in a row. Hopefully these videos will be around for a while so future generations can enjoy them.

Thanks to Thorny and ChampAmp who came down from Indiana on Saturday to take part in the festivities. It was great to meet them in person finally. Thorny brought his clean X330, a nice X189 (I think...) and the grand prize giveaway item, a Phoenix X130na that Jack took home (lucky dog!). Champ brought what many thought to be one of the cleanest X220 Omegas ever with him, and ultimately won the 'Honorable Mention' Award for it.

Thanks to RobotDr for showing up, he has a crazy schedule and we didn't know if he would be there. He just happened to pick up a cool X290 Black Workingman on his way to the show! The real show stopper was his Relic'd Phoenix (not sure of the model) that would be crowned "Most Beat-Up Electra". Don't let the Award fool you, it played great and had ultra quiet electronics in it, I'm told it's now his Number One player!

Thanks to JackBaruth for bringing in his unparalleled group of Phoenix's, as well as a Red Futura, Studio Zephyr, and TWO X640 Active Basses... WOW. He also took some great photos and has been kind enough to post them here:

Good stuff, and the comments are starting to fill in under these pictures. Jack had quite the good fortune of taking home two Awards AND the first pick of the Giveaway drawing!

Here is a rundown of the Giveaway results:

First Pick: JackBaruth took home that nicely setup Natural Phoenix that Thorny donated

Second Pick: Thorny chose the X650jb Bass I brought

Third Pick: Redeye took the really cool Laser Etched Neck Plate that SLMguy donated

Fourth Pick: RobotDr declined, as he doesn't own any MPC guitars

Fifth Pick: Proendorser took the lone Power Overdrive Module which Redeye donated

Here is how the Awards went:

Best in Show --- Went to JackBaruth's rare 1982 Sparkle Finish Phoenix with matching headstock

Honorable Mention --- Went to ChampAmp for his super clean X220 sunburst Omega

Most Beat-Up Electra --- Went to RobotDr for his restored Phoenix HotRod

Most Electras Brought to Show --- Went to Jack, who brought a dizzying twelve guitars

This event was a blast and will be impossible to top, unless somebody wants to rent out Carnegie Hall next year! Thanks again Ultra, way Above and Beyond the call of duty man. Cheers, Mike.

It's almost impossible to describe the sheer awesomeness of this year's ElectraFest. I was particularly pleased that we had a four-piece band going most of Sunday and everybody was playing an Electra. When do you suppose that happened last, outside ElectraFest?

This one will take some doing to top. Seriously.

I disagree, Jack. It could be topped by going to the same place with more people/guitars!
