An old friend and former band mate over the years has acquired many, many guitars of various brands and value and has kept them in storage;

I had heard this but could not verify it;

I hadn't seen him in a while until just recently;

He told me he was looking for me, as he was wondering if I might be interested in his - original owner - natural branded Outlaw X720 MPC with 5 or 6 modules;

I tried not to let the cat out of the bag by jumping up and down with a "Definitely!" but I think he got the message.

He said he would take 6 bucks for it - and by the way - he's also gonna throw in his X290 with it ..........

He is one of those people who always takes his time, so I'm not gonna rush him, but when I talked to him yesterday he said he would eventually get it out of storage and that he would hold it for me.

He remembered that I played an Electra X110 back in the day when we used to jam,

and had heard that I still have some Electras;

He thought I would be interested and he was right;

I will keep you posted.

Sounds like a pretty good deal to me. Good luck with it.

CONGRATS my friend! That sounds too cool. I would guess that the modules and X290 are worth close to six hundred alone, and I'm assuming there is a couple of cases included, quite a score. Enjoy, Mike.

:hyper: That is one great score indeed. Especially with the MPC module prices of late. I have one of the natural finish outlaw models with the peace sign logo and it really looks cool. Hope you post pics when it arrives. Congrats. :up: :up:

What?! Are you crazy...?

You can say stuff like that out loud before the actual deal goes down. I hope you didn't upset the upset the universe and jinx it.

Good luck. Be patient. Let us know what happens.

Do you really mean $6 or $600?

$600.00 -

I know I'll really believe it when they are in my hands - or that I have actually seen what they look like;

I have known this individual for over 30 years and consider him most trustworthy,

and I do believe that he has them - but again until I have seen them .........

If it doesn't happen that's OK too - I'll just keep dreaming about them.

I have already been blessed beyond anything that I could imagine with receiving my brothers G&L in November 2010.

I saw both of these guitars today and really didn't feel the need to make a purchase;

An Electra Outlaw MPC X710 (branded - with years of wear - for $500) and a black X290 bolt next - better condition of the two;

I think he wants to sell them locally - he wants $600 for the pair - he doesn't care about any Ebay selling;

In their current condition - even with a couple of gig bags - about $350 would be my best offer -

If I really felt the need.

The MPC had a MPC4 Tank Tone and a MPC6 Trigger Filter - if I remember correctly;

Both of the modules worked, although the MPC switches are both bent and loose and IMO need replacement;

The 5 way switch worked fine;

The down position on the X290 pickup toggle had a mind of its own and only worked every once in a while.

I took a pic of each; they need some TLC and would probably great guitars for the right person.

Just not my day to make a guitar purchase so I walked away.

My thinking is that if I pay $500 for one guitar or even $600 in a 2 for 1 deal - they both better be ready to play.

Email me if you want to see them.

I don't know if you need them, but I'd ask about the modules separately. They're always good to have. Shoot, I'd love both of those.
