A couple of test pics to tide you over for now...

All been sitting in a closet for the last 15 years or so. Guitar is still dusty and is going to be going in for a full checkup perhaps as soon as tomorrow. The previous owner is quite a gentleman and I think was relieved to find out that my interest and intentions in his baby are sincere and genuine.

The initial reaction from my wife was priceless. I think I made the right decision.

That is a beauty for certain and a very nice amp also. These things are tone monsters and can be sweat and clear or screamin scorching, rockers. great for rhythm or leads. Congrats she is indeed a beauty. I love the trapeze tailpiece. My Egas is startin to boil again after taking in all this beauty. EGAS EGAS EGAS EGAS my EGAS is running high again. Thanks for the pics and glad she found a good home. I try to find nice Electras and get them posted here so we can all enjoy them and they will have a good home.

Sweeeet! Good story too. It's always nice for the seller to know that his guitar is going to an enthusiast. Did you pick it up in person? How far did you have to travel? You and Sarc may have to get together and trade notes. Lots of Jazz Strad action lately... someday my ship will come in, until then I'll have to 'make do' with my Maple Pro! Congrats on a fine instrument, Mike.

Logged 713 miles yesteday to meet him in person. The original owner (Dave) is a true gentleman and it was a pretty poignant moment as he strapped her on for his last spin with her.

Really a testament to his faithfulness to her that she is in such awesome "nick". He reminisced about his playing days with her recalling several years of 6 nights a week. Quite a lot of miles have been poured into her and she is still in tip-top form.

The amp is in awesome FUNCTIONAL shape as it absorbed the brunt of those road miles rather than it's partner. Not to worry though as that will eventually begin again to fulfill that same role and we have the Fifty you see in this shot that will pull home duty.

She will be going off to see a professional for a good cleaning and some minor setup changes to accommodate my wife's lighter touch but to my feel (limited that it may be) it already seems supple and heavenly. Flatwound jazz strings make up abit of that I'm certain. Will get the Nikon's out for some better pics when she gets back... my DroidX can only do so much.
