Looked like you guys had a swell time from the little I was able to watch. Wish I could have made it for this year, but I just couldn't swing it.

To whoever won those Bullfighter strat pups I sent over to Arthur, don't hesitate to use 'em....they're quite punchy and warm toned. I got 'em from a luthier who wound his own pups and maintained the instruments of a number of collectors.

If I could have made it, I expect that RAY might have had some real stiff competition this year.

Were all models represented? How many guitars total, did we make the 100 mark?

Is there a list of who won all the drawings from this year? Hope fun was had yesterday. I watched some on Saturday on the webcams but was visiting with friends from Australia and California on Sunday and missed the whole day.

Many thanks to Arthur for hosting this; can't be easy to round up guitarists!!! Y'all had a good time and I enjoyed what I saw from here very much; it was certainly nice to see everyone and put faces to names, eh!! Oh... and listen to your funny accents!! Mind you, I could listen to someone from Georgia read the phone book; that's a sweetheart of a drawl, Arthur!!

Kudos to all involved... :D

It did look like fun. So many guitars - so little time. I missed all the Saturday action but will go back and look when I get the chance. Even though I couldn't be there, I'd still like to thank Arthur for hosting.... So THANKS ARTHUR!

I would like to say a Big Thank You to everyone that watched and attended the event. This was a great time and I enjoyed it very much. It was an honor to host this event and enjoy all the Electras, Westones, and all the music and events. I have the list of the absentee second chance drawings and the picks will go in the following order if you missed it on Sunday. As soon as the first person makes a choice then I will post it and notify the next person until all are done.
1. Corsair
2. Jead
3.McBrat
4.Ozark Cannon
5. yyzrondo
6.Iceman

More to come Thanks again to all. Can't wait until next years event.

Thanks very much to all who made the webcast an enjoyable diversion from the weather up in Minnesota that weekend. Heat index both days was over 100 degrees and humidity ran in the upper 80's to low 90's throughout. It made being stuck indoors a little more bearable.

A special round of applause is in order for Arthur's hospitality and willingness to open his home to all of us present and online.

Cannot wait for next year's event. :hyper:

yeah Arthur, many thanks for setting up the live feed so we could watch some from afar- and to everyone for being willing to put yourselves out there. I got to watch the startup Sat and have been checking out some of the clips for an Invicta demo... can anyone point me to one?

and I'll be looking out for an Omega now. Quite the display of gear there!

I do not believe we got around to that model in the demo section. We will work on getting that done. Maybe I can get Pro to do one of his great demo jobs for his awesome models.

I got back late last night, not sure when Redeye got home, it was a long drive for both of us. It was a great event, and Arthur was an awesome host, just not enough superlatives in the language to really do him and his family justice. It rained like the Dickens on Saturday, so that put a damper on photography, tried to make up for it on Sunday, but we admittedly fell short of documenting all the guitars, so maybe fittingly, I don't know the exact number of guitars represented... it was really easy to get distracted with all the beautiful offerings that were available to play.

Not sure what the 2nd chance people nabbed, but of the Members present, I drew first pick, and even though I tried to talk Arthur out of it all weekend, I took the nice Metalic Purple X135 Phoenix that he very selflessly offered up. Next was Redeye who took the MPC Octave Box I donated (now he has 10 of the 12 boxes!). Warrn drew third and after some encouragement picked the Monstrosity project that Redeye brought along, and Finally, Arthur took the Loaded Electra Strat Pickguard that Jead sent in.

Here is the ElectraFest 2011 'Best in Show', which really was a tough choice considering all the great examples present, I do feel more than a bit embarrassed, although Ray is an outstanding player and everyone who touched him felt that way:
Image

Our 'Honorable Mention' went to Arthurs 10 lb, 13 oz Monster of a Bass, the X620 Outlaw, which was a very classy choice:
Image

Most Beat-up Electra fittingly went to the ElectraFest 2009 Grand Prize giveaway selection, the X135 affectionately known as the 'Burn Victim', every time I pick up this guitar it just blows me away, I hope Redeye continues to bring him to future EF's:

Redeye won the 'Furthest Travelled Electra' award, and of course Arthur took home the 'Most Electra's at Show' Honor. There were just so many outstanding guitars there this year, it's really tough to highlight all of them, but here are a few that I thought were really great instruments. First up, a simply terrific 2255wc of Arthurs, lots of people played it, and it did not disappoint:
Image

Next, a heart stopping X340 Jacaranda of Redeye's, that I was frankly too afraid to touch, yeah it's that clean, just incredible:
Image

Warrn brought the surprise treasure of the event if you ask me, just a stunningly clean X640s in super shape:
Image

The outlaws often get overlooked, but this example that Arthur (somehow...) talked Leah out of really stands out. It looks almost like you're stepping back to 1979, very cool:
Image

This next one was a real gem, a 2257 with mini Humbuckers that played great and had a fine tone all it's own, and many people couldn't help picking her up:
Image

Arthur has a excellent group of Semi-Hollows, and this X410 Rock Strad really got my chest pounding, and it played reeeeal nice too:
Image

We tried to figure out what all the switch combinations on this Studio Zephyr had, and I'm not sure we succeeded, but it sounded great just about anyway you dialed in the Six way rotary knob. Very subtle whiteburst finish, just a really cool little axe here:

So many awesome guitars in one spot, it's not fair to leave out the ones not mentioned, but these are the instruments that really stood out for me. I'm still recuperating from the drive, but many, many fond memories will keep me going. Hope you all enjoyed it, and I'd love to keep this tradition alive in the years to come! Cheers, Mike.

Ray deserved that best in show win for sure! I'm not much of a guitarist, but Ray made it feel easy, like I should be trying something more difficult than my usual power and cowboy chords. Really made me want to go back to learning to play the instrument instead of playing only bass.

And I'm glad you all talked me into the Monstrosity, I'll be filling the trem cavity and shimming the neck hopefully by this weekend. I have a piece of heart pine out of an old house to fill the trim cavity, not sure what to use for a shim but I have tons of options. Very likely going to ask for some help first so I know I'm doing everything right. Will be a great first project once its done!

I wish I could have been there, and I hope it continues so one day I can. Maybe I can play all of these fine examples. EXCELLENTLY written pro. Burn Victim looks like a joy to play, so much mojo going on there. All the guitars are beautiful.

Congratulations to Arthur for graciously hosting the event, to all in attendance, and to all winners;

Not being able to attend was immaterial as the video coverage was great;

Great job Mike on all of the BIS pics - the Burn Victim is still around?

And I must say that I finally saw an X340 in Redeyes that makes mine a second place finisher - what a beautiful axe.

Kudos to all.
