I finally got a great deal on a Peace sign logo. Picked up an X135C from CL for $100.00 plus soft case. It is in pretty good shape only a couple of nicks, a changed out bridge P/U, and a little brass worn off on a few of the bridge saddles. My tally is now 1 PCM Bass, 1 PCM Guitar (Both with wacky logo), Corsair Bass (with Script logo), a white futura (Pheonix logo) and this one. I will have to take off pick guard to see what was done with P/U change etc (if anyone has picture of unmolested x135 let me know). Plays great with lots of life left on the frets.

A string-through champagne sparkle Phoenix for $100? Notice how it's got a 1982 anniversary plate, but was built in December of 1981. The Maple bodied X135's are significantly heavier than the Ash X130's, and also sport the deluxe sealed nickel tuners. Looks like a Bill Lawrence Blade pickup in the bridge position. I think you did great man, congratulations, Mike.

Excellent score indeed. Congrats. I have the green, red, and purple sparkle models so let me know what you need pics of and I should be able to help out. I like the gold looks great.

Never have paid to much attention to the Phoenix models - they don't give me EGAS -

But you wouldn't have to twist my arm to play this one - a very nice guitar - and looks to be in pretty good shape.

Congratulations on your new axe.

Thanks for all of the nice comments. Arthur I will PM you when I get around to opening up the pick guard.

Yeah, that was a good score on the sparkley axe! I wonder what the sound comparison would be to my strat being as you have the string-through design. In fact I would be very interested in the sound comparisons between the Electras and comparable higher end guitars i.e. Gibson, Fender.

Well I can say for certain that I have had Gibson players that have played my Elvin, X410, X110, LP models as well as the V models and all stated they were far better players and asked where they could find one. I have also had Fender strat and tele players that have played my Phoenix and strat models and liked them very much also especially the necks and the many different tonal variations.

A working X140 - beats just about any Strat I've had any day of the week. I also end up comparing Workingman models favorably to SG's - but that can be a little more hit and miss. I'd also put my X330 in a metal cage death match with ANY Les Paul and to make it fair, I wouldn't even throw in any MPC modules.

I might be a little biased but I don't have any more Gibsons and only 1 Strat but I still have a bunch of Electras. :)
