I bought my 320 because I've had MPC's on the past and I've liked this 280 so much I bought the 320. I had bought the Workingman new in the 80's for my dad and I gotten it back after he passed so it's never leaving. That all said this little guitar stands on it's own, I probably play it more than any of my other electrics. It's been my at home "grab" guitar but my 320 was bought to replace it and I stored the Workingman. I just pulled the Workingman out and it's getting it's spot back.

My 320 appears to have a Duncan wired in at the bridge, but it is wired correctly into the 5 way which is nice. I'm still thinking about letting the 320 go in favor of the Workingman. Maybe crazy. Not really advertising per se but maybe a heads up.. Might think about trading it too.

Go with what you bond with, that's what I say. Some guitars just become your extension while others don't. Let us know what you decide.

Great story man, buying a guitar for your Dad is really cool. Although those two guitars look fairly similar, they are quite different. The MPC is likely heavier, has a chunkier neck, and probably has some nice sustain. The workingman seems more like a SG with the lighter weight and slimmer neck profile to me. Despite having the bolt on neck, I would probably pick it over the MPC too. I'm a fan of the X200's and have owned all six slab bodied variants. I raise my glass to you, Cheers!
