Haven't been on here in awhile, finally got a break from school for the summer - WOOHOO!!

The X810 sounds phenomonal and plays like butter - all the electronics/knobs/pups/tuners appear original and work well. Frets have some good wear on them so a fret job will be done shortly. I'd rate it a 9.5/10

The VP700 has some gnarly bite from the MMK53 and 56 (or 57) - a quick setup and now it plays fantastic. Not sure if it's all original but I believe most of it is, and it looks killer too!! Frets look great, with minimal wear. It's a 9/10.

Both came with OHSC. Got'em both locally too.

I've been GASn on pedals (mainly modding them) and speakers for my cabs/combos lately, and I told myself I was not gonna buy any more guitars (actually sold about 6). But I just couldn't pass these up, they are in such good shape and I got a great deal on both.

Your Vantage most likely has a pair of MMK53's in it, they were always factory installed in matching sets by type.

There was never a '56 made, that I am aware of at least. The numbering system for those pups is 45, 53, 61 and 75. The various Matsumoku made lines also used differing names for the same pups as they were called Protomatics, Super Twins, Hammers, Supers, and so on and so on and so on...
