I just procured a 1984 XV3GR Dynasty but it didn't have a hard shell case. Is anyone aware of a 3rd party case that works with these guitars? (i.e. Coffin case)

Thank you!

Chris

Chris my good sir, thou hast landed my favorite pointy Electra/Westone, the Dynasty (or "pre-Dynasty", anyhow)! Congratulations!

As for a case, I've hear that the Gibson or Epiphone flying vee cases will fit these. Although that's only what I've heard, I don't know that for sure.

If you live near a music store, take your amazing 80's axe along with you and try out different cases. The music store will flip when they see it, they're probably never seen one before.

Thank you Sir Chad. Good info and I'll go give that a shot! I wish it had been taken better care of, but a new paint job and a major parts/fretboard cleaning will do wonders!

New paintjob eh... we need photos when that happens! What are your paint plans for it?

I'll be sure to get some before (yuck) and after pics when it happens. Probably just stay with a glossy black (or graphite as Electra called it).

That will look good. Since you're painting it anyhow you may want to think about another color, may look cool in white?! You need a cool red one like I have, too. Everyone needs one of those.

LOL...red is always good. I have a few red and white gals. But interestingly, I don't have a black one! I guess I need one!
