Actually I got this awhile ago, but just now getting around to posting pictures and impressions. I stumbled across this in a used shop and couldn't help myself. I pulled it down from the wall to take it for a spin and was immediately smitten. I put down some money so they would hold it, then sold my 2259 (SG copy) and an amp to get the cash. No MPCs with it, but it feels and sounds great. I wax-potted the pickups, and it is nice and quiet. All my previous Electras have had bolt on necks, and this one is head and shoulders (pun!) above those IMO. Just got it back together after having a bit of a dust up rewiring the 5-way switch, and am planning on playing it at a gig on Thursday. Around here, the wave headstocks always get a lot of comments. I'm partial to them myself. ANYHOW here's what ya came for!

Good score, very nice axe - congratulations -

Maybe you can find some affordable modules in time -

I do recommend the Thorny modified MPC5 OD; have had mine for quite some time now.

Check the 9 volt battery removal cloth strips in the MPC cavity - they may have mfg date on them ........

I have an extra Power Overdrive module if you're interested. PM me.

And great looking guitar! Aren't those abolone inlays are outstanding! I agree, a set neck just feels different. Mentally, that is. Seriously, it does for me anyhow!

8) Congrats on the score and welcome to the world of Electra egas. Beware it seems that once you have one Electra it's never enough. That's a nice on you scored enjoy it. I agree that the wave always draws a crowd when giged live. Yo0u can find the MPC batwing switches at any radio shack if you ever need them. I also keep a few of them just in case those batwing tips get lost or broken. They just slip on so no problem. Congrats again

Just a tip that I have heard others here talk about -

Unfortunately those strips on my X340 and X330 are all blank - both bought new -

But the SN's on the foil tags are 111xx and 115xx - and are 394 apart in actual number.

Is the SN and model number foil tag on the back of headstock on this one?

Congrats on a killer guitar. I picked one up a few years ago in a trio score in a pawnshop.
The cash deal for all 3 was TOO good to pass up. Here's mine

Great Guitar - perhaps one of the finest X320s I have seen. And I either had forgotten or didn't know that you could check the battery removal cloth for a date. What excellent information. See, I am NOT TOO OLD to learn anything!

All kidding aside, killer guitar. I really like my x330 and have kept it for 20 years now. I liked them so much I had a whole bunch of the X300 series MPC guitars for a while, but cut back a little bit because I started to buy other electras and westones, and also kept playing my original X330. Yours is in much better condition, and I bet it is an excellent player. These guitars are well balanced, have a semi-hollow top (arched ply top over mahogany block) construction. I think it sounds better and is a bit livelier because of this. It also is a bit lighter too - still well balanced but not a back breaker (remember 10-12lb Les Pauls from that time period?). The MPC wiring and 5-way switching is innovative. I like the single master volume and tone too. Certain FX really work well placed in the guitar too. Some of the MPC modules are fantastic.

Welcome to the forum.
