I recently acquired an x240. It is my first Electra and my first LP style guitar. The stock electronics are long gone, but it has been rewired to a LP configuration and loaded with zebra mmk 45s.

After shielding it, leveling and crowning the frets, cutting the nut, adjusting the truss rod, saddle height, and intonation, and fixing some shoddy wiring, its a great guitar that I will hopefully own for a long time.

The image below is before I worked on it. The eagle-eyed among you might notice the pickups are installed incorrectly. Also, the pre-intonated tailpiece is redundant.

8) Those pickups really look great installed on that finish. That's a keeper for certain. Congrats and welcome to the forums.

I love my X240, one of my favorites! You'll want to wax pot your MMK45's. It'll sound great!

I know that will help with microphonics, but will it reduce hum? I shielded the thing and checked all the grounds, but it still has an annoying hum.

Mine hummed too, it ended up being a wonky ground issue due to a bad solder. It fixed it right up, quiet as a mouse now. Go over EVERY ground, especially the large ground wires, the thicker ones. Send us shots of your cavity.
