Does anyone know a source where I can pick up a "new" 5-way MPC rotary switch for an X810? I find this switch online however it's not specific. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Streve

Here is an entire thread on the MPC (which used the Tone Spectrum 5-way switch) wiring diagram:

You may run across a vintage rotary switch, but if not, McBrat has included the pin out for at least one currently available replacement switch. Good luck!

Well it looks like part of the problem may be the previous owner swapped out the original Super Magnaflux pickups with two DiMarzio (4-wire and a bare wire) Humbuckers. The wiring mod from the pickups to the original leads going to the switch are as follows:

From the pickup to the snipped off lead to the switch:
- Red wire to the red wire
- Back & white wires twisted together and taped off
- Green & bare wires twisted together to the white and bare wires

I suspect this is incorrect. Any thoughts on the correct configuration?

The switch expects to see the + and - for the pickup and the ground to be separate. So in your example, Red, Green, and Ground wires (black and white taped off).

You can use a new replacement switch too. I have used one I got on ebay. The "common" wire of each switched section is in a different order though, so you move one of the switch locations accordingly from the website. The common is either at the beginning or the end of each section, and it is reverse on the replacement I used. But the switch works fine.

If you already have one though, it sounds like maybe you don't need one.
