It was a pretty small get-together, augmented by a couple of guys who were passing through the city on their way back from a Heritage Guitars get-together in Kalamazoo.

I don't have any photos ready but I can say that we managed to assemble...

wait for it...

SEVEN Futuras in the same place.

Mostly because I already had five at the house :)

After last year's blockbuster E-Fest with Tom Presley, this year was always going to be a bit of a rebound but I think we had plenty of fun and I'm looking forward to being part of a larger group for next year!

Award winners were as follows: furthest traveled and most beat Electra John Thorny Thornburg, most Electras and best of show (Elvin Bishop 2281) - Jack Baruth, honorable mention guitar was me Ron yyzrondo Miller for the x940 MPC Vulcan. Other guitars in the running for best in show were Jack's x199 set neck Phoenix, Ron's Phantom Quilt Talon from the new Electra company, and Mike ProEndorser Morris' 2266 Burgundy Pro with screaming pumpkin logo.

Door prize giveaway x185 BL was won by Jack Baruth in the drawing. Other giveaways included some guitar tuner snarks. There didn't end up being anything else to ship out to people that couldn't attend.

I have a number of new custom Electrafest 2015 picks available, so send me a PM with your address if you want one.

Big thanks to Jack for hosting this years event, we can now start asking the question of where to hold next years event!

Had a great time this year, and Jack was an excellent host! The one day event meant that everything had to be abbreviated to a degree, and it seems there's never enough play time. I did get to paw a number of nice Electras (and non-Electras), and that 'New' ELectra Talon is a real treat. I've been slow to take up the new models, but seeing the wave headstock on a Floyd Strat is cool looking, and it was a blast to play (haven't done a lot of Dive-Bombing lately, so that's always fun).

Got to crank up a trio of boutique Amps, which is always special, as with most Boogies, I'd like to take some time to figure out the Mark V controls, dizzying amount of options on that model. Thanks for the Snark tuner Jack (best door prize ever!) seems you can never have too many of those! Cheers, Mike.

p.s. Somebody post the 'Wall of Futura' pic please

Hey guys, I am late to reply - on Sunday drove to Minneapolis and starting a new contract job. But thank you Jack for being so gracious of a host. I wish I could have stayed longer! I agree, the talon was fantastic and really fun to play, and that pumpkin head burgandy pro was fantastic. I had a great time. Jack, what a collection of guitars and amps! Nice stuff (yes, even the non-electra). Very nice. Also enjoyed the boogie amp I plugged into, and you all know how picky I am about amps.

All my guitars are in Indiana right now. I might have to start looking up here. Hmmmm, craigslist... :-)
I had better get some paychecks first (takes a while in the beginning) and a place to stay instead of a hotel room.

Thanks all - had a great time. Take care.

Superb, guys; please, more photos!! :)

As much as I like pointies, those Futuras look...well, odd, to my eyes! :D Having a group like that together, hiwever, is very special indeed!

I wish there had been more time for some other pictures. It was hard enough to make time for those pics. I would have liked a picture of all of the Phoenixes and of all of the anniversary models. I took only a few more pics, but I will post them soon.

Jack still has them. I bet he get some of his gems and take a picture for you. And frankly, he's got them too! And in every flavor (alright, colors, but colors like that should be called flavors). It is a treat to see one model of some of those, where he had multiples of many. I was like a kid in a candy store, but hey, so much so that I forgot to take pictures. Too bad I missed the last pics - as I think that my elvin
early elvin (pre-elvin?) had the early non-wave headstock and was there. I just had to cut out too soon. Still, enjoyed it a lot and glad I didn't miss it.

Jack, maybe take a few of your favorites of those anniversary color beauties outside in the sun and shine. Make Corsair's day (and everyone else). That would be cool.

Thx.

Thorny
