Hello. I'm new here and not a real experienced player, but am enjoying the learning process. I've at least gotten to the point where it's really become fun. Anyway, I thought I'd give some information on my guitars.

After playing my friend's x280 Workingman for a month, I bought one on Ebay, back in May 2016, an x290, in fair shape.
I had a setup done immediately, and it plays and sounds good. Then I bought another x290 at Reverb, which is in very good condition, with a few blemishes. No setup needed. I paid $190 and $225 respectively for them. I like these guitars.

This week, I received two more Electras, bought on Ebay; - An X260 Invicta (walnut finished) and a 2245 Super Rock sunburst.

So, now I have a sense of the difference between MMK45 pickups, Magnaflux pickups and the Protomatic pickups in my Aria Pro II Stray cat ( I just sold the Stray Cat to a co-worker, but I still have an Aria Pro II Knight Warrior.) I like the sound of both the MMK45 and Magnaflux pickups. The Protomatics are okay, but I'd like to hear an Aria Stray Cat with either of the other two types, or one of each.

The Invicta needs a new jack, the pots cleaned, and a general setup. The tuners could use cleaning and lubing too.
It wasn't playable as bought, but will be. Cost me $200 + $30 shipping.

The Super Rock is impressive, sounds like an LP and needs only a little action adjustment and cleaning of pots and metal parts etc. It has the wave headstock and peace symbol.
Paid $210 with free shipping.

I will eventually let go of the lesser of my two Workingman guitars. I am considering refinishing it. I know that's controversial, but I have experience with catalyzed polyurethanes, as well as surface prep, in boat painting, and could do a good job.

Not sure if this is the right place, but I have info on serial numbers

My friend's x280 Workingman - 082193

My latest and best Workingman - 087440 - 1983 built - from original Electra tag that came with it. No number on guitar.

My other Workingman only has the sticker on headstock - 37053
I think it might be a mahogany body. A small thin piece of wood that lies between the neck pickup rout and the neck pocket had broken off and looked more like mahogany than ash. I glued it back in.

They both have MMK45 pickups with threaded holes in mounting plate, not soldered on nuts, for adjustment screws. Both have MMK stamped in metal plate. Haven't seen the pickups in my friends X280 yet.

x260 Invicta - 102024 engraved in headstock back. MMK45 pickups with MMK stamped in metal and threaded holes for adjustment screws.

Electra 2245 Super Rock sunburst 12465 serial number, from sticker on headstock (I understand that the 5 digit numbers don't mean much) Magnaflux pickups

I will post photos later

I had to go out and buy a digital camera, so I can take pics of the guitars. Haven't tried the camera yet. I was one of the last holdouts, until recently using my 35mm Pentax film camera. Almost impossible to get film developed now, which is what pushed me over the edge to digital.

Yesterday, I got the x260 Invicta and the 2245 LP back from the guitar shop, where setups were done. My friend, who's a pro, put them through the paces and was duly impressed. The 2245 really sound like a Les Paul he says. For me, the neck shape on that one is not comfortable, so I'll probably give him first option on it, and otherwise sell it. The Invicta neck feels more like the Workingman necks, which are more comfortable for me. I've only got about 3 years experience, so it makes a bigger difference to me than for my friend, who has about 50 years experience.

Will put up some pictures soon.
