Hello,
Why isn't there a category for discussing amplifiers.

Because it's the "Electra Guitars" forum, perhaps?

You could always start a thread in the Non Electra sub forum?

This forum is focused on the Electra guitar brand and I agree that we do discuss non electra things here so I agree with corsair in that you may want to start a thread in one of those areas to discuss amp repair. We have several members that are very knowledgeable in that area and I know we all have that occasional amp issue now and again when a good old fashion whack wont fix it.
