Here's a quick shot of me and my new X930. I've just deep cleaned it and re-strung it but have yet to really play it (other than verify things work). Any electrical issues seem to be gone with DeoXit (best product ever). It plays & sounds good so far although I don't have a 9V to test the MPC. More photos tomorrow if the weather cooperates.

So far this is a really nice guitar, feels and plays great. Can't wait to plug it in. I'm amazed by how badly people let their guitars go. This had a badly adjusted neck, was buzzing badly from 5-7, filthy electronics, some stripped screw holes, dried out fretboard. It truly amazes me how many guitar player have no idea how to care for a guitar. However, one of the true joys in my life is bringing neglected guitars back to better than new and I'm close with this one. The neck needed 1/4 turn loose, the frets needed polishing, the fretboard drank up Fret DR like I drink beer, the electronics thanked me for deoxit and deoxit gold., the finish came back to life with Gibson polish. Tomorrow, address the stripped screws and get a 9V battery to see if the MPC's are alive. Beautiful neck on this guitar!

Thanks RCS! Here's some good views of the guitar. MPC's both work, Phaser & Filter Follower. Guitar cleaned up very well, frets are good, needed to glue the nut and fix a bunch of little things, otherwise VERY happy with this all original guitar for the price! He even included a new non-original hardshell case!

The heck with the guitar, where can I find a pair of pants like that? I've got some Clam-Digging to do!

It's got a slightly fatter neck than most Les Pauls, but it's not quite a baseball bat neck. I like it, great size for my hands. Thanks for the tip on eternashine, I'll look into that for sure.

I REALLY like the neck on those models. I have a 950 and the guitar is a beater (been played a lot with lots of dings and such) but the neck is fantastic - a big chunky neck.

Hmmm, Just like me. :toopid:

That guitar is in really nice condition, so if you rehabbed it you did a hellova good job.

I wouldn't say rehabbed Thorny, more like gave it the proper cleaning & care it's needed for 32 years. The fretboard was the worst, never cleaned, never treated by the looks of it. some 0000 steel wool, some fret dr, & 20 minutes of elbow grease fixed that. The electronics were scratchy, 5 minutes and some DeOxit fixed that. The truss rod was about 3/4 turns too tight and everything was buzzing. It still may need a fret level but it plays and feels great right now. I love the chunky neck too. I'm sure this guitar was sold because it played like junk, it makes me laugh that people won't take the time to get a guitar setup and Google "guitar care". Ah well, their loss equals our gain I suppose.

I found that to be true with the last 3 guitars I bought. Cleaned them up and I think I got some good looking, playable guitars. Bridge and neck set ups all helped. Some of that scratch remover you guys were talking about sounds like the ticket to finish them out.
