I apologise if there's like twenty-five threads about this bass already, but dialup is slow. :P

Here is mine. (I miss living in that house...) I don't have the serial number memorised, and the guitar is at my other house, so I can't give you that. One was just sold on eBay for $425, that I think is identical to mine.

I knew nothing about my guitar, despite searching for three years, until I found that auction yesterday. Now, I'd like to find out some more about it.

And to think the guy at the guitar store tried to dissuade me from paying $125 for that thing, because it was my first guitar, and so heavy.

Ah, that's an excellent bass! It's an Electra Phoenix bass, the high end version with the active electronics.

I'm looking at our model listings and it's incomplete, but I'm going to say it's an early X650. Let me get to some catalog scans and get back to you about it.

Unfortunately not too long after I got it, one of the switches quit working. It's the '2-way' switch farthest from the '3-way' switch. I'm not sure what it does...

I'm kind of afraid to take it to the music store to get it fixed, afraid they'll charge me way too much. But I'm even more afraid to try to fix it myself...

Anxiously awaiting more info...

Well, I think it uses the same active electronics as the X150 guitar. See if this makes sense- the bass probably omits the coil tap. If the other switch is a phase reverse, it'll only work when the 3-way is set at the center position- both pickups selected.

I'm going to feel like a moron if I try that switch with the three-way in the center, and it works.

Thanks for that info.
