I found an Electra at a pawnshop that I plan on buying Friday. I was hoping I could get some more info before I buy it.

It's a cherry sunburst LP copy, with the lawsuit openbook headstock. Looks to me like an X220, but without the wavy peace sign headstock. It's bolt-on, and has no serial number on the neck plate or the back of the headstock.

There's also what looks like an X2252, which I may buy later on if it's still there.

Any idea if it probably is an X220? I'll try to post pics after I buy it.

Thanks.

The Omega (X220's...) has a set neck. All of the Omegas should only have 2 knobs, and two bigger switches where the 3rd and 4th knobs would be, as well as the 5 position selector switch. You may have a 2245 there (bolt on Paul). There are many users who like the bolt-on 22xx series and say they play/sound as good as set necks, however their sale values have not been as high as the Omegas, due in part to the set neck stigma, but also because of the cool electronics.

The shape of the headstock started out openbook, then for a short time had a half circle cutout (many people think this was Matsumoko using up already cut neck blanks, so they wouldn't be wasted) then finally the Wave style headstock. A number of models have been found with all three headstocks. Serial Number was often on a foil tag on back of headstock, which could have been removed, they don't just fall off, could have been hot (as in stolen). Best of luck.

Thanks for the reply.

I forgot it was bolt-on, so it couldn't be an Omega. But after looking more closely, it does look just like one of the Super Rock models, same headstock, no active electronics, etc.
Any idea why it's not listed on the main page with the other 22xx series guitars?

Thanks a lot.
