I just picked up an annonomous Gibson SG copy at my local Guitar Center. With a bit of searching, I found this here website and wanted to know more about it. I narrowed it down to a 2259, but my guitar looks a bit different than the one pictured here. There is no logo on the headstock and the top headstock carving is closer to the Gibson shape. The neck still has binding but has a different curve at the bottom end of it. Also, no serial number. Is it possible that this is a new, replaced neck, or did Electra not put logos and serial numbers on some guitars?

There were many factories making SG style guitars, supplying even more distributors. If it doesn't say Electra on the headstock, it could still be very similar to the guitars profiled in the above thread. It is conceivable that a different neck found its way on your example, but it is also likely you have one of the unbranded models that made its way into the market.

Many unbranded copies were shipped to distributors and even large music shops for them to brand themselves. On some the badge came off. Some never had one. It is very difficult to figure out who made what when it comes to these guitars.
