I haven't been able to find anything resembling this guitar on any Electra sites I've visited. I'm starting to wonder if it's an Electra neck with a different body. ( I bought this guitar from a pawn shop) If anyone can help me out with identifying this I would be most greatful! Pictures can be found here:

I'm sorry about the pictures. The lighting in my apartment is horrible and I had to take the pics with a webcam because my digital camera is broken.

Very interesting!

To begin with your headstock bears the old-style electra logo, which appeared on several different kinds of Electras- some of the early SLM Electras had this, as you see in some of the LP and strat and tele copies. Also, the same logo appeared on 'Electra' models sold by PCM (although many of those also had an 'X' as well). Finally, there are a handful of mystery models which appear in no catalog, so we don't know who imported them. Among these there is one Vee model I've seen:

But this body isn't quite like yours, is it? Seems like yours is a bit narrower, though I'm not sure. Another thing I notice is that the butt of your neck is quite rounded, more so than most necks- does the neck pocket of your Vee's body match this rounded shape? That might give a clue as to whether the body is original. Have you removed the neck? Many times when a neck is fitted to a different body new holes are drilled into the underside of the neck, and you can tell what's happened.

Cheers,
Paul

For starters, thank you for your reply! The neck does fit with the body and there are no holes underneath to indicate a swap. My guitar does look to be a little bit narrower, and the headstock is more rounded. A few things that I have noticed:

1: The knobs and switch are the same on the guitar in your picture as they are on mine ( might be hard to tell, one of my knobs is off because the pot broke )

2: The hardshell case that is holding your guitar is exactly like the one that came with mine. Nice shade of tannish brown aren't they?

It would appear that I do indeed have an Electra guitar if we use your picture as a reference. ( this is assuming that the guitar in the picture is also a genuine Electra )
Can you name a good place to start with all of these importing companies? I feel a lot more motivated now that I know I don't have some fluke of a guitar.
Once again, thank you very much for your reply. You have given me hope.
